Building Upwards
The brief is the nature of space in your immediate environment, how it defines us and how we occupy it.. alter it, experience it, personalize it. I decided to focus on how we build Upwards to make and occupy more space. This in an etching i designed to show how we build higher buildings to create more space. I want to create a chaotic atmospheric effect in the background as in the second picture. I need to develop it further.

AFly On The Wall
I'm in my first week of Visual Communications. In our fisrt week we were given a Typography project where we were given a metephor and told to make a typeface that visually communicated it in a conceptual way. My metephor was 'The World Is Listening'. I started by looking at it litterly, looking at ears etc. I then began to look at it as a paranoid statement, the 'Big Brother' theory. After looking into CCTV cameras and other forms of comspiracy, I settled on the idea of a 'fly on the wall' that is listening to everything.

Face Contours
I had my friend pose by distorting her face so i could capture the shadow effects on her face. This is an acrylic painting.
Mask
Shadow: ''If something or someone shadows you, it follows you wherever you go''
When I was in TY we went to an awareness talk about domestic violence. In the demonstration the presenters wore this kinda of mask to symbolise the mask people carry around to hide what they are really feeling. A shadow of themselves they carry everywhere.
